Vect-Horus reçoit une subvention pour le développement de sa plateforme VECTrans® dans le domaine de l'ophtalmologie

MARSEILLE, France—Vect-Horus, une société de biotechnologie qui conçoit et développe des vecteurs permettant l'adressage ciblé de molécules thérapeutiques et d'agents d'imagerie vers différents organes dont le cerveau, annonce l'accord de Bpifrance et de la Région SUD Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur pour l'octroi d'une subvention de 200.000 € visant à soutenir son projet VISIO (Vectorisation Innovante de siRNAs pour l'Ophtalmologie).

Cette subvention permettra d'étendre les efforts de la société dans un nouveau domaine : l'ophtalmologie. Le financement permettra à la Société d'une part, d'apporter des preuves supplémentaires quant à l'intérêt de sa stratégie de vectorisation dans le traitement des pathologies ophtalmiques et d'autre part, d'évaluer l'efficacité d'un de ses conjugués siRNAs qui lui permettra de poursuivre le développement de cette molécule thérapeutique et de collaborer avec les principaux acteurs de l'industrie pharmaceutique présents dans le domaine de l'ophtalmologie.

Vect-Horus reçoit un financement non dilutif de 1M€ dans le cadre du dispositif de relance européen REACT-EU

(Marseille, France – 1er février 2022) – Vect-Horus, une société de biotechnologie qui conçoit et développe des vecteurs permettant l'adressage ciblé de molécules thérapeutiques et d'agents d'imagerie, annonce l'accord de la Région SUD Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, responsable de la mise en œuvre du dispositif REACT-EU dans le cadre du Programme Opérationnel FEDER-FSE, pour une subvention de plus d'un million d'euros. Ce projet est financé avec le concours de l'Union européenne avec le Fonds Européen de Développement Régional.

Vect-Horus développe sa plateforme technologique VECTrans® unique en Europe dont l'objectif est de développer des molécules « vecteurs » qui permettent le ciblage et la délivrance d'agents d'imagerie ou thérapeutiques dans des organes spécifiques. Cette stratégie est centrale, en particulier, dans le développement d'approches thérapeutiques très innovantes basées sur les acides nucléiques (siRNAs, ASOs, ARNm) qui requièrent des technologies de ciblage et de transport cellulaire.

Vect-Horus completes its €12 Million fund-raising operation

MARSEILLE, France—(BUSINESS WIRE)—VECT-HORUS, a biotech company that designs and develops vectors that enable therapeutic molecules or imaging agents to be delivered to key organs, has just closed its Series D fund-raising. The first round, held in September 2020, raised €6.7 million and a second round in December 2020 added €5.3 million from private investors, bringing the total amount raised in these two rounds to €12 million.

This second funding round strengthens the company's capital so it can pursue its ambitious programmes, focusing on identifying new vectors, developing theragnostic (therapeutic and diagnostic) agents in a clinical setting and validating its technology for delivering therapeutic antibodies and nucleic acids.

The health crisis has for the first time highlighted the enormous therapeutic potential (in terms of vaccination) of messenger RNAs (mRNAs) encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles. These mRNAs are used to express proteins of interest in the body. In contrast, antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) or small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) inhibit the expression of a particular gene and therefore the corresponding protein.
Using the company's VECTrans® platform, nanoparticles of mRNA, as well as ASOs and siRNAs, can be vectorized in order to treat both diseases with a genetic component and cancers.

VECT-HORUS Raises €6.7 Million to further develop its VECTrans® Platform

MARSEILLE, France—(BUSINESS WIRE)—VECT-HORUS, a biotechnology company that designs and develops vectors that facilitate the targeted delivery of therapeutic molecules and imaging agents, has announced that it has raised €6.7 million. In this new round of financing participated historic shareholders and also new entrants. It will strengthen the company's equity capital, enabling it to develop its programs and the upcoming clinical trial of its first theragnostic agent (contraction of the terms "therapeutic" and "diagnostic").

The proceeds of this new round of financing will enable the company to increase its R&D investments in order to optimize its VECTrans® technology and, more specifically, to identify new vectors that will expand its portfolio. It will also enable the development of new conjugates associating the company's vectors with therapeutic biomolecules: antibodies, mRNAs and various antisense oligonucleotides, including siRNAs. Therefore, the vectorization potential of the VECTrans® platform will be significantly enriched in order to achieve its targeted therapy objectives in multiple organs and indications.

Moreover, with its co-development partner RadioMedix (a company based in Houston USA and specialized in nuclear medicine), VECT-HORUS is preparing the pre-IND dossier of its theragnostic agent for clinic trials in 2021 for the diagnosis of glioblastoma.

Finally, several collaboration agreements have been signed or are currently under negotiation with various pharmaceutical partners. The company aims to balance its R&D programs with an increasing flow of revenues from these industrial partnerships.

VECT-HORUS announced today having raised € 1.5 million, from its historical shareholders, mostly professionals in the finance industry. In total, VECT-HORUS raised in 9 years more than € 11 million, of which € 5 million in grants and research tax credit, a record in France for equity financing of a biotechnology company.
