Pr. Pascal HAMMEL

Pr. Hammel is a recognized expert in the treatment of digestive cancers. He is currently the Head of the Digestive Oncology Unit at Beaujon Hospital, since November 2014.
He has participated in several clinical trials involving pancreatic cancer chemotherapy. He is also the coordinator of the Integrated Research Program (P.A.I.R.) of Pancreas 2017 for the National Cancer Institute (INCa), the French Federation of Digestive Cancerology (FFCD) for Ile-de-France and the network for the detection and management of familial forms of pancreatic cancer.

Dr Hammel is a former President of the French Pancreas Club and a member of the French National Society of Gastroenterology, GERCOR and the Cercle André Lambling. He is also a member of the European Organization for the Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), the International Consortium for Pancreatic Cancer Screening in the (C.A.P.S.) and the Task Force USA for Pancreatic Cancer. In 2006, he was elected a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Pancreatic Club.

He is co-author of more than 300 scientific publications, some of which deal with the treatment of pancreatic cancer. In 2008, he wrote a book “Healing and better care, a doctor at the school of his illness”, published by Fayard.
